Popular Post flarud
These are Sue Mey patterns that I slightly modified. They both are about 13" wide by 10" tall. Cut from 1/8" BB ply with a 1/4" BB ply as the backer. Cut entirely with a FD spiral blade. I like the one with the black backer a bit better, it stands out a little better. I looked online for a western sunset that I could print out and use as a background but I didn't like the look of them as much as I liked the idea of them. FrankEV
Great cutting. Love Eagles, as you know. Howevewr, as I've said this before, I'm not a fan of the torch work, but to each his own, as they say. For me I would have made the black backer maybe a 15" x 12" rectangle and mounted it in a frame as a true wall hanging. Don't consider these critizisms, they are just my thoughts. preprius
Did the boards purposely have darker stained sections? It does look like a good technique to use to enhance the carved look. I do like the darker background better. Edited May 18, 2021 by preprius

I'll probably cut this one a few more times and can play around with it. I love burning ****! LOL FrankEV

new2woodwrk
They are fantastic! I prefer the lighter one actually, but dark background does really make that Eagle pop for sure! The burn outs really make the whole thing stand out very nicely Thanks for sharing them Edited May 18, 2021 by new2woodwrk

CSull
Great looking, I wonder how a sky blue background would look?

My wife has about 4 books of construction paper. Each book has several shades of blues, greens, oranges, and reds. I tried every shade. The blues and oranges were considerations.
