A request for an upcoming birthday

Yep trains are a good topic.

I also agree with this being a good pattern.  It has clean lines, not too busy, so it draws attention to the train.

But the smoke pattern does not look smokey or streaky.

If I did this pattern I might make the smoke more wavy and cloudy with puffs and chuffs.

I still give it 2 thumbs up.

My great grandson is really into trains so his grandfather,(my son), asked me to make a train plaque for my son to give him for his birthday. This is a Sam Custodio pattern that I have made once before, a long time ago. I personally like this pattern and since I had it on hand, I choose to cut and frame it.

I like train patterns, train clocks, and all kinds of trains. I especially like yours. Excellent job cutting it.

I agree with you on  your smoke lines. I appreciate all the patterns that Sam Custodio makes and shares for free. I have cut quite a few of them and have more of his on my TO DO list. If  you have not checked his patterns out, go take a look. Easy to find if you google search his  name. I just do not like to change things on another persons patterns except it I find where a line is too weak and then I may choose to enlarge it a little, just to give it more stability.    Thanks for the two thumbs up . It is much appreciated

Another great project! Sam has some really nice patterns also.

Sam Custodio is an Oregon guy and I planned to stop by and meet him on my way back home from Oregon but on the day I was in his home, he was out on a fishing trip so it did not work out that I could do that. I have cut several of his patterns in the past but not too many lately. I am still waiting to get to your patterns as soon as possible. I am finishing up with a couple of requests and we will be leaving in a little more than three weeks to visit family and friends in Oregon for two months and that includes Seeing Paul (scrappile) too. Paul told me yoy made him a couple of car patterns and that you have been communicating with him too. He really enjoyed his time spent with you a lot..

Nicely done Dick you did a great job, I’m sure it will be appreciated

I always hope when I make something for someone, it will be enjoyed by the receiver. However once I give one of my pieces of scrolling, I hold that it is theirs to do as they please and if I see it in a later garage sale, I am ok with that because if they really do not enjoy it, why should they keep it just to pacify me?

Wonderful. Well done.

thank you for taking your time to send me a nice comment like this one, on something I have attempted. The comments are interesting and appreciated. I know that Travis works hard to make sure that the comments are not negative so that feelings do not get hurt or discourage someone so that they leave the village. When someone gives a suggestion that is intended to help the posting party to see where they might consider adding something or changing the way they do something, I always hope the receiver of the comment takes it in the right way and considers a learning aspect is in the comment.

Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

Bob, I love to hear the nice comments from people in The Village, as I know most have way more scrolling skills then I do but they still take the time to encourage one another. That is what makes The Village a family.
