Popular Post Iguanadon
This flashback memory popped up on my wife's Facebook page this morning... 5 years ago today, my first craft event. Then versus Now... It's been an absolute blast and a fun journey. I wandered down to that market the previous Saturday, asked who managed it, showed him a photo on my phone of one of the puzzles and he said "Nice. Be here next Saturday." WHAT??? I had never done anything like this, didn't have a tent, tables... heck, I didn't a banner, business cards... or even INVENTORY!!! LOL But it was a great first week and has been amazing ever since. lawson56, WayneMahler, TexasDIY and 8 others

kmmcrafts
That's awesome! The learning of do's and don'ts you learn through the years of selling at your craft fairs is cherished by all those who you share your experiences with. I still have not done any craft shows but you sharing the info of your experiences would definitely advance me from just being a newbie trying to find my way as you did yourself. I'm sure many people are thankful of your sharing of your progress. This Sept. I will have been selling on Etsy & Artfire for 11 years.. eBay was 11 years before that ( but not for my crafts business, that is for my car and tractor parts journey LOL ). I see my future of the scroll saw crafts as me cutting back on the handmade. It doesn't leave me as much time for my other hobbies as I'd like. I can see in the next 5-7 years my crafts changing slowly from scroll work to CNC and laser work so I can use the other bay in my shop to get back to building cool cars.. ( the real ones.. not the clocks and puzzles LOL ) The CNC and laser work can be set up and somewhat run on their own while I stand by in the other bay building real cars. At least that is wishful thinking that it could work like that. I'm sure reality will show me different.
WayneMahler
Congrats Iggy 5 years is a short time to grow as much as you have. Hoping that continuing success stays with you and your endeavor. I know from looking back over the years as to where I started and where I am today. It is amazing how time flies things grow.

barb.j.enders
Congrats on 5 years. It is "inspirational" to know that you can start with almost no inventory. That is my holdback thought that I don't have enough inventory so I don't go into any shows.

new2woodwrk
Grats on your anniversary! Being an "Iggyite" myself, I can attest to and appreciate all the information you have provided! Thanks to that information, each of my events have been successful and my set up started similar to your 5 year setup! LOL You're tops in my book!
