My First Project

Thanks everyone. Yes, there is a backer over the entire horseshoe. I agree that a darker backer would have contrasted better to make the project "pop." In actuality there is some contrast but it doesn't show up well in this picture. Being my first project I was still determining if I was even going to like scrolling.

meflick,

My second project was "DOGS WELCOME, PEOPLE TOLERATED" sign I did... was doing, for the wife. I did all the cuts and started on the letters. Because the "PEOPLE TOLERATED" was closest to the edge and my saw arm doesn't lift, I decided to cut those first. Soooo, the "DOGS WELCOME" were the last cuts. When I cut the "G," it broke off. I blame it on the poor quality of wood that I was using. It was extremely brittle. It was 1/4 plywood that was in my shop when I purchased the home. That was over 20 years ago and there is no telling how long it had been there before then. (Good excuse anyway.) The project is still sitting on my workbench next to the saw as a reminder.
