Popular Post Dak0ta52
This was the first project I completed. My niece has a horse tack store and does horse training and riding lessons. She displays a lot of my projects to see if they will sell. frankorona, Birchbark, jollyred and 22 others 23

preprius
At first I thought you just glued the thin horse on top of the thick piece. Then I had zoomed in to see the thin horse is actually a backer for the entire horse shoe and open letters. Nice project. FrankEV
Very Well Done! If, for the backer, you had used a darker wood or stainded it darker there would have be a little more contrast to make it visually pop a little more.
Dak0ta52
Thanks everyone. Yes, there is a backer over the entire horseshoe. I agree that a darker backer would have contrasted better to make the project "pop." In actuality there is some contrast but it doesn't show up well in this picture. Being my first project I was still determining if I was even going to like scrolling. FrankEV

meflick
Nice job and much more detailed piece then my first piece. definitely wasn’t trying lettering, still not a fan of lettering. I prefer to run and hide from letters.

Dak0ta52
meflick, My second project was "DOGS WELCOME, PEOPLE TOLERATED" sign I did... was doing, for the wife. I did all the cuts and started on the letters. Because the "PEOPLE TOLERATED" was closest to the edge and my saw arm doesn't lift, I decided to cut those first. Soooo, the "DOGS WELCOME" were the last cuts. When I cut the "G," it broke off. I blame it on the poor quality of wood that I was using. It was extremely brittle. It was 1/4 plywood that was in my shop when I purchased the home. That was over 20 years ago and there is no telling how long it had been there before then. (Good excuse anyway.) The project is still sitting on my workbench next to the saw as a reminder.
