Kind of like buying the biggest heavy duty truck but you only haul a small utility trailer.. 99%  of your driving is unloaded.. Your ride is going to be like a lumber wagon.. when you only needed a light duty truck. LOL

I can agree.  Its amazing what an extra 1/8 stroke can do though.  And you use more blade.  Think of it like getting your money worth out of your blades and electricity.  Thats why I started this topic.  To show diversity and how hard it is to meet everyones needs in one saw.  I love the responses to this.  So many great ideas.  I feel like a saw that leaves zero dust behind, nearly silently is a big thing.

The BM series Hawks have the same 24mm ( 7/8" ) stroke.. JFYI.. so yes I use more of the blade on the BM26 than i do on the other saws,  and maybe why it cuts faster than the older Hawks.. The EX-21 still cuts slightly faster..

my PS wood is a full 1 inch stroke.

After I purchase a new home with a shop and get all my saws installed plus a few lol I would have to invite everyone to come and try them all for fun.  Make some good food check out Maine and eat some lobster rolls and play with some fun toys.   Call it scrollervention

Yeah, that'd be awesome fun, I'll bring my saw along as it's easy to travel with and doesn't take much space so everyone can try it too.

Your hilarious! . I could use a good coping saw.  I had an interest in a knew fret saw but they quit anodizing and quit removing tool chatter in the truss system frame.  It kinda matches out hawks.  You can get one then use it to build its own cool case and flock it and then maybe do it times two and the other one can have a bow on it and my name on it.  Lol. I kinda wonder how the super sharps blades would do in a saw like that.   Your taking me down a rabbit hole....

I don't know if it counts, but I would love a loaded Glowforge.  It might not be able to cut as thick as a scroll saw in one go, but it can cut and engrave quite a variety of materials.  I'd have to say that.  Otherwise I really like my Hegner.  Just wish someone with a bit more skill than I built the stand it is on.

My laser engraves a lot better than a scroll saw can.... But the cutting part I don't care for the burnt edges.. Also the parts smell like a campfire unless you drench them in a clear topcoat.. so I much rather "cut" on the scroll saw.. Just with the scroll saw would engrave better..

I just watched a video where they recommended using transfer tape as a way to prevent some of the burn staining from occurring.  I've not had much problems with my Ortur LM2, but I also don't use it very much.

I don't have issues with the staining once I upgraded the exhaust fan to a more powerful one.. but yeah the transfer tape does help a lot if you don't have a good exhaust fan, it's the actual black edges where the cut is that I don't like the look of.. and I don't think anything will take the smoke smell away other than top coating.. I'm going to try engraving other mediums like ceramic tiles.. maybe they won't smoke / burn and stink.. LOL

I've been listening to podcasts since way before apple decided that they had invented them. Most are free, and there is probably a podcast available for any interest that you might have. There are thousands of them I use, and I highly recommend an Android app called BeyondPod. It has a built-in search function that helps you find podcasts. With BeyondPod, you can automate the entire process to automatically download all your podcasts and build and maintain a prioritized playlist.

What is a Scrollmate ? not familiar with that brand etc-

They are a USA made saw.. built like a tank from what I can see and hear about BUT, I think the blade changes are somewhat cumbersome... Not totally user friendly when comparing it to the other newer saws. I wanted to buy one instead of my new Hawk back 3-4 years ago now.. BUT they had a issue with a design flaw or trying to redesign something to improve it and they were not making saws at the time so they was sold out.. Still Sold Out today.. and still not making them yet... so not sure what's up with that. Honestly glad they was sold out because the more I learn about the saw I think for my needs the Hawk was the better choice for the type work I do.

Its very user friendly. More than you think. If you had a chance to sot down on one for a week you would develop your rythmn with it.  They are updating something on the upper head to make it even better or easier or lighter or something.  I know when I have blade holders ready to go its much faster than any of my hawks or the EX or Dewalt.  I really want (if they let me) buy the rights and make a few changes and cnc machine the whole saw out of billet.  I will say this.  The fit and finish of my scrollmate from ps wood is flawless.  Its literally perfect.  No machine marks, chipped paint or anything.

I am curious.  Whats everyones choice of color for their dream saw? For me it might just be a very bright high gloss teal more on the blue side for a powder coat finish or two part epoxy finish. A little on the thick side of course and a touch up bottle or pen to match. If I were to anodize maybe a candy apple red but slightly transparent or a bright like green.  I may even add some fun led lights for some under glow effect to get through those more depressing weather days!

Are they actively looking for a buyer? I'm curious as to what would make you want to buy them out. Not being nosy but with my business mind, I'm just wondering.

I was really taken with the 2 tone color scheme of the Pegas so something in that order might work. Color is really not important to me as long as it's not something that ends up looking like a Tijuana taxi.

You very well may be right, I have no personal experience with them.. only restating what I have read from others about them and also based off watching the video on their site.. I try not to base opinions off what others say unless there is more than a few others stating the same thing..

the demonstration doesn't really show it very well and in that demonstration the saw seems loud and its not the room is just empty and small and the camera microphone picks up everything. There is a better video out there but the person operating the saw lets the wood chatter a bit.  It doesn’t show the release and tension process though. I will post the video on here.  Its more realistic on noise level.  And the camera is mounted directly to the table so you can see how smooth it is. Eventually your gonna have to come visit and play with it.  It has its quirks for certain stuff just like every other saw.  But thats why you buy one of each kind and a couple back ups lol

That guy doesn't seem to know how to hold the wood down... that isn't the video I seen.. I had to go search for it but this is the one I seen.. she explains and shows blade changes..

Thats Barbara.  She is super nice.  Thats a little room lol Thats why its so loud.  They showed me how they make blades and stuff there.  Very very nice people.  Very detail oriented as well.  And organized.

Barbara was a guest at one of our scroll saw club meetings, several years ago.  She did a short presentation on their products for the benefit of our members, all of whom were from Western PA, but only a handful were familiar with PS Wood products.  We all had seen their ads in the scrolling magazines, but very few knew they where located so close by.

Anyway, I recall that she was very nice and knowledgeable about all things scroll saw related.  She said that they used to do a lot of trade shows and the scroll saw picnics that used to be very popular within the scrolling community.  I recall she said that they don't do much of that sort of thing anymore.  I really should make it a point to take a road trip down there to check them out in person.
