dadroadie Posted August 4, 2021 Report Share Posted August 4, 2021 Hi again to all. First I wanted to thank everyone that tried to assist me with the older 20" craftsman unit. As luck would have it I was able to trade this saw to the friend that owned the Black & Decker BT4000 scroll saw that I had borrowed and used in the past. Both of us are happy with the even trade. I really enjoy the new saw . I do have a question about lubrication of the arm bushings on the Black & Decker BT4000 . In the manual there is no mention of doing this. Also it appears that the saw would be very difficult to take apart to accomplish. Would anyone own one of these models that might be able to answer the question? The saw has very little vibration and I really like the ease of changing blades. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again! dad roadie Yes a lot of saws actually do not require and service.. they want you to break it then buy another one.. Some of us will take them apart and put new bearings and grease in them.. A lot of the older saws that use a brass bushing / bearing don't need lubed.. they use a special lube that is mixed in the brass when they make them that is self lubed.. so they don't require anything.. other than every so often they might need another one of those brass bushing / bearings again.. Regards dad roadie If you really wanna lube it up use turbine oil. Its very thin, very clean, clear oil and spreads and coats surfaces very well. You can use sewing machine oil too.
