Well Ray, I like the piece but you never said how the test went. Did the Hegner perform as expected???

Sorry. The Hegner is a sweet saw. I still love my Excaliburs but the Hegner is such a small footprint that if I sell the 16" Ex I'll gain some space. I hate to let go of it but I can't keep all 3.

That looks good.  I made a bunch of those last year for Christmas presents, but luckily I knew of the different sizes.  I had done what you did the year before when making one for my wife, and learned my lesson.  The next ones will be perfect.🤣

Tom

Well, I'm happy to know it's not just me.

I think you dii great on that. I'll have to give those a try since I'm in Florida now. Does Steve have the pattern with the tree.

If you are referring to the palm tree, no, I had to ask for that and he sent it to me. But if you want it, here it is.

I think it looks great!! Thanks for the heads up on the different sizes, I'll probably forget by the time I make one of these. Wanted to do some of these for about 10 years now and still haven't done it. I'm sure I'll forget by the time I get to that end of my list of things to make.

This would look great with an inlay.. that's a great idea too.

Hope you post more of the things you make. Though.. maybe you have and I missed it since I don't get to this section of the site very often.
