Popular Post OCtoolguy Posted August 10, 2021 Popular Post Report Share Posted August 10, 2021 I wanted a quick project to try out my Hegner so I whipped this out. From a Steve Good pattern. I asked him to include a palm tree for me to fit our "beach" decor. Sadly, the brand of tissue that Barb uses is an oddball size box. Who knew? Puffs is about 1/8" bigger in one direction. I'm still lacking in knowledge of staining. I wanted it darker. Oh well...maybe next time it will fit and be the right color. Did the Hegner perform as expected??? Sorry. The Hegner is a sweet saw. I still love my Excaliburs but the Hegner is such a small footprint that if I sell the 16" Ex I'll gain some space. I had done what you did the year before when making one for my wife, and learned my lesson. The next ones will be perfect. Wanted to do some of these for about 10 years now and still haven't done it. I'm sure I'll forget by the time I get to that end of my list of things to make. This would look great with an inlay.. that's a great idea too. Hope you post more of the things you make.
