Popular Post FrankEV
I converted this pattern I found on-line and modified it to make it an 11” square scroll saw pattern. Had to add some bridges and modified the pumpkin shape a little to make the letters to read better. Both the cut panel and backer is ¼” thk BB Ply cut with Pegas #0 MGT R blades. The panels were hand painted with Acrylic Artist Paints and protected with multiple coats of clear gloss spray Polyurethane, as this piece will hang outside on the front of my home. And again, the Frame is Poplar…oh yeah, that’s right, there is no frame Critique and comments always appreciated. EDIT PS: Just sitting here looking at the pic and realized this would be a great pattern to use with a back lit orange plastic backer. preprius
For my application (California) I would need to add smoke , flames, and burnt trees and then say "Fall" or fallen. Or add "No" Fall zone. We dont have seasons here. Good looking project. Hey if you do another one with Red you can say "spring". Red for tomatoes. Dak0ta52
Excellent artistry, Frank. Yes, that would be difficult to frame... unless you added an additional backer board. Hope you post a picture if you add the lighting. FrankEV

rdatelle
Nice job Frank. Your painting is off the charts. How do you get that kind of finish on them. FrankEV

The hardest poart of the painting is the edges...they are one SPTA. When everything is painted and dry, I affix the cut panel to the backer, clamp and dry at leat 4 hours. Often, after unclamping, touch up painting is required, no matter how careful I was. I always seem to find some spot I missed or the worng color became exposed, etc. For something like this plaque and my frames I use poly as a protective coat. In this case 3 coats of clear Gloss Spray Poly. I prefer wipe-on poly for my frames. I do back, dry, flip and do front, dry, second coat, dry, filip, second coat onf back, dry, flip, very light sanding is any needed, third coat, dry. Add hanger on back. Finished. BTW, things do look better in the photo. Close up and personel you can see many flaws.. but as often quoted in NY; "You will never see them from Brooklyn"!!!! heppnerguy
Charlie E
I like it Frank! Great job on the colors and finishing. Fall is my favorite season. If there are flaws I can't see them from Alabama! FrankEV
