Mark SW
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has a source for sanding mats? Thank you Mark OCtoolguy
FrankEV
I don't know what you mean by a sanding mat. Google does not either. If you are refering to a non-slip mat that you lay on your work bench so pieces don't move while sanding, any wood working supply will have them at very exorberant (?) prices. Wallmart and others sell non-slip rubber like waffle type shelf liners for a fraction of the price and they work just as well if not better. Comes in rolls that you can cut to suit. Usually much thinner and harder that the Wallmart Shelf liner, but is non-slip. I believe even HF is more costly per SQ IN/FT than the shelf liner. WayneMahler
Rockler used to carry a black sanding and routing mesh. I had one before. Not sure if they still carry them. The one I had tore pretty easy when it got snagged on something though. OCtoolguy
kmmcrafts
I get the rolls at the Dollar Tree.. It's what I've been using for 12 years. I have never cut it down.. I just fold it up into the size I need which gives a bit more padding. OCtoolguy, Roberta Moreton and Mark SW

Works for sanding and it holds my wood in place when using my router. OCtoolguy

Mark SW
Thank you everyone for the suggestions. That is what I am looking for. Looks like a trip to both Wal Mart and Dollar tree this Saturday for some shelf liner. Again thank you Mark FrankEV and OCtoolguy
Norm Fengstad
I found that actual sanding mats are not as good as a yoga mat I bought at a garage sale for a dollar OCtoolguy, Mark SW and barb.j.enders
