NIce work on the Cat.  The oversized oval backer is just great.

The Birds, as always, just magnificent.   The piece of wood you chose really captures the moon effect.

My lady made me hang the version of the Birds, I made quite awhile ago, in our living room.  I think she likes that one the best of all I have made for her.

Thanks Frank. The cat 'oval' is actually a piece of b/b cut ½" wide and put on top of the cat like a faux frame.  The birds I must admit are always enjoyed, simple but sweet.

Awesome job Brenda! Both are really nice. I'll bet I could sell those at my upcoming shows, where did the patterns come from?

The Tiger is an H.Botas pattern, the birds are just a vector graphic that I found a couple of years ago  and it cut really nice so I kept it. I just cut the dark bits.

Lovely work Brenda.  I really love the bird one, where did you get the pattern from?
Now you don't have to do the ironing for a week or two.  Win win.

Have put a picture above. It was just a vector graphic off the Internet.

Here is my weak spot... I can scroll, but I can't always look at a picture and see a pattern..  To me that is the major difference between me, have a pattern, cut out the black, save the white, I can do that pretty good and You, see a picture,,, as an artist, and make it work for a great picture..  Awesome!!

Wow!  Both are really cool.

But now I'm confused after reading your response to Frank... is there a bigger oval stained backer behind the cat or not?

No there's no 'backer'.  I'll try and explain.  Behind the cat is some black card. The cat is glued to the card. Then there's the 'oval' cut out of b/b and stained dark brown and glued to the cat.  Here's a smaller piece made the same way but not yet put together  that may help 'show' what I've done.

I love both projects and would love to cut one of the  birds plaques for my wife, If that would be OK with you. If you are OK with that, please let me know, otherwise I will not take the liberty to copy your work on my own

Thanks for your kind words Dick. Please feel free to use the picture, or I could send you my grey/red pattern. Enjoy. xx

@flarud.  Once the  cat is glued to the 'card'  I cut around the piece so it's all flush.  Then the oval is glued to the cat.  I then put a couple or three coats of clear spray varnish which helps strengthen it and Voila !!!   Sometimes, more so on the 'small' pieces, I don't want a wood backer as it makes it too clunky for me.  Don't know of anyone else that does this but it saves me a fortune in 'backers' as the card is quite cheap from the stationers.  🤣
