What you did is an excellent job of producing a beautiful piece... I have a cut of it completed,,,, but not finished.. like you did, I want to back it with stained glass.. I have three pieces waiting of  stained glass backing... I just need to get to our local stained glass supply shop.... I don't have the knowledge or tools  to cut the pieces I need, so I am hoping they will do that part for a reasonable price...

Thankfully the cuts were straight lines on this one. This was the first time I've cut glass.

That is one awesome piece.  Love it.  I read once that if you keep a pencil with an eraser on the end close to your machine and the pattern starts to lift just use the eraser end to hold the pattern down because you can hold it real close to the blade.

That's really beautiful. I've never seen the glass backing before and really like it.

How do you attach the glass?

Thank you. I cut this back piece and rabbeted it to accept the glass. It's pine and turned out pretty fragile so I caulked the glass in from the back and caulked the sides to the frame since it was too small to nail. Probably lots of easier ways to do it. :)

A couple years ago I cut this Fiona pattern out of a piece of 1” Red Oak. I cut a relief cut allowing the cutting to recess forward in the outer ring. Then I cut the round piece of glass to fit inside the outer ring. If you look closely, you can see both Oak rings.
And in my opinion, there are many talented scrollers, and then there is Fiona Kingdon. She is on another level that’s all her own. She uses no patterns. She makes things from what the individual piece of wood gives her and draws her works with her blades.
