preprius Posted October 30, 2021 Report Share Posted October 30, 2021 It looks like the owl is above the background. Shadows tell me this. But it came from the same piece of wood. So it might use a "relief" cut first. That is the outer edge of the owl cut at an small angle like 6 deg or smaller. Then the owl falls out of the back. But wont fall through the top. Then they puzzle up the owl. Stain a few pieces. Put the pieces back. Stuff it in the back and it pops out the front. Glue it from the back.
