Eric67
Hello Everyone, I work mainly oak wood with blades 15TPI or 25 TPI, often after a project, I change the blade because I have better sensations. I watched my last blade and I saw a significant wear. Do you do the same? Eric OCtoolguy

I have no idea of tooth count or width. I use a blade until it either breaks or becomes unwieldy. When I realize that I'm having to push harder or the sound changes or if I can't keep it going in the direction that I want, then it's time to change blades. I have encountered brand nee blades that don't act right so they get tossed. I hope this answers your question. dgman
Yes, blades wear. It is important to keep sharp blades in your saw. For me, I change blades when the blade no longer cuts the way I want. Itβs not uncommon to use several blades to finish a project. Thatβs why most of us buy blades by the gross. That is 12 dozen or 144 blades. OCtoolguy, barb.j.enders, Mark SW and 1 other 3
Scrappile
I do and agree with every thing Ray just wrote, with the exception that I have a pretty good selection of blades in two brands,,, Pegas and Flying Dutchman...Β I use a lot of different blades, usually they are no bigger than a #3.Β But I change blades when they break (of coarse), and when I feel they are getting dull... I can feel that for all the reasons the Ray stated. don watson, OCtoolguy and Mark SW 2

Eric I also am not sure of your question.Β Besides TPI, we need to know the thickness and width of the blades.Β Like others said, change blades often especially when you notice pushing harder or not easy to follow the line.Β At around 25 cents per blade I consider them disposable. NC Scroller
I do not think there are any industry standards as far as blade sizes and TPI count.Β A lot depends on the style of blade and brands.Β Β don watson and OCtoolguy 1

I always buy at least this many per size. The first time I ordered from Denny I purchased 144 of seven sizes. OCtoolguy
