Popular Post Jaguarguy
I know that this is way below the level of most of you but here is my first project - almost! I used food coloring to dye the wood to make it non-toxic. Still trying to figure out which color(s) to stain the outline of the puzzle. BTW - definitely not my puzzle design! Hawk
We all started much in the same way you have. But I dare say that it's too late, you're addicted, welcome to the dark side! (lol) Enjoy the ride. Your puzzle looks great. Chris Jaguarguy
FrankEV
Great start. You might want to protect the colors wsith a good coat of clear, either lacquer or Poly as any mositure will make the food color dye run. A nice dark black or brown would do well for the suround. wombatie
What a great start. I would leave the background the natural color, it shows off the colors best. Marg Jaguarguy
Dak0ta52
I agree with several others who have said to keep the outside a natural color. You may want to use an oil to help bring out the grain. Once dry you can coat it with a clear like Frank suggest. Regardless, you did a great job. Heli_av8tor
Nice job. I too have used food coloring. The neat thing about puzzles like this is that when it becomes too easy for the child you can cut it into more pieces! Jaguarguy

A second puzzle of a butterfly, a couple of dog paw ornaments with the dogs' names, and a Jeep cut-out for one of my grandsons. Several other patterns in the pile, including a bowl.
