I started to cut it out of Red Cedar but the sawdust would not blow from the pattern and continued to build up in front of the blade. I was using a #1 Pegas blade and no.... I was not put on upside down.

I've had that problem with the redwood I've cut, to the point when what I've got is gone I won't cut it anymore. Have you tried moving the blower nozzle so that it blows more from the side than the top (if that is possible with your saw).

I have tried that. It is almost like it  develops static electricity as you are cutting it. Even if I blow on it with my mouth, it stays there. I can use it for regular cuts but not for   small fret work

Love the Cross Dick. Awesome job!!!👍👍 Although it has been awhile since I have cut Cedar I don't recall having the trouble you had🤔 but my memory is not what it once was.🥴

When I am cutting things thicker than 1/4 inch, I do not  seem to have as much trouble with it. Oh well, the harder woods are much easier to cut and do not have this problem, so I will try to purchase more hard woods in the future

Spring starts 1st September but apart from about 5 days worth the rest have been cold and wet.  Today is 12C yesterday we had hail.  Summer starts on Dec 1st, well at least we hope it does.  :)

Great job, Dick. I had a little trouble with a piece of wood that built up dust and I couldn't see the lines. The blower was working properly. Turned out the wood I had selected had gotten wet a few days earlier and there was moisture in the wood. It wasn't much but just enough to cause the dust to stick and not blow away. I'm sure if I would have had a stronger blower, it would have worked fine but there was just enough moisture to cause it to stick around the blade and the saw blower wasn't enough to do the job.

You should be here with us in Southern Arizona as it still seems like summer for most of the United States here, as we are still having temperatures daily in the mid 80's. We almost never get rain and if we do, it very rarely lasts more then an hour of two. Never do we get snow here but on rare occasions we might see a hail storm the passes through. It is always connected to a monsoon which only happens in the summer month. The bad thing about the monsoons is it causes instant flooding but is very isolated and only lasts a short time. I does bring our summer 110 degrees down to a cooler feeling 80 degrees while it is blasting an area with its water.

moisture is not a part of our problem in Southern Arizona as it is extremely dry here all the time. We have very hot days here but until temperature reach over 100 degrees, it does not feel that bad and one does not sweat much here either. Way different from the Oregon where once it reaches 80 degrees one becomes too hot. People who have not experienced hot temperatures here in Southern Arizona usually do not believe what they here about how the temperature is so different.

Nice cutting on that Dick. I was looking at that pattern myself. Still debating whether to do it or not.

Not that bad with a hard wood or BB ply. If I was making it again, I think I would increase the size of the pattern, only because I think it would stand out a lot better. Go ahead and cut it. It looks more challenging then it really is
