LL Johnson Lumber

Hubby and I went to Charlotte Dollar tree and happened to drive right past LL Johnson.  Welllllll of course we had to stop.  Below is everything I bought along with the prices to give you an idea of the *speciality* wood prices here.

If you have a way to mill your own.. it's a lot cheaper than buying the "store boards"  I used to buy the store boards.. then I started buying the bundle packs ( bundles of 30 board foot or less ). Now I go out back and get the good deals of buying 100+ board foot at a time which gets you into a much lower price bracket..

I don't have a way to mill my own boards.  Am getting a planer in May for hubby's birthday so I can use some of the wood from the Amish and plane myself.   don't use a lot of wood as I don't scroll that much with my eyesight being as bad as it is.  Can't see the darn lines

Love that place, got my P-20 from them. But since moving here to Beaverton it's a bit to far for me to go just for wood. I do pretty good at the Tool Haus in Gladwin.

I did the math for the basswood picked at random. It works out to $3.46 for a board foot. A bargain.

I like ll Johnson's lumber. If your buying quantity no other place beats their price. I once ordered 850bdft of quartersawn red oak and 300bdft. of poplar and had it delivered and still saved money compared to a more local supplier.
