Travis
That turned out awesome, fEZ! I really like the material. I assume its painted wood? Very nice treatment to the wood if it is painted. Nicely done!

realfEZ
I'm here! Thanks Linda, Christina, Travis Paul and Fran, for the nice comments. Now's time to unravel the mystery. In fact, as I only get to used very low quality wood, I always have to find a way to enhance my media. Marble powder and acrylic paint mix make a fantastic coating to work with. For this project I just added some tint. The texture itself was made on the fresh coating, using this : and finally clear varnished it after 24h drying. Et voilà ! PS : This frame is now hanging in a living room somewhere in Portsmouth, UK, a thousand miles away from my shop. Best wishes fEZ. WoodJunky
Nice work, Fez you have done a great job Now correct me If I am wrong, the finish is done by mixing Marble powder and acrylic paint to make a coating for you to work with and then you use a zip tie to create the texture and then a coat of clear to finish it. If so, Well done !!!
realfEZ
Not wrong and you're my saviour WJ! So it's a zip tie then! lol the closest I got to naming this thing, using all available means, was flexicuffs! We definitely need that graphic search engine. Now Mrs Google! Actually the zip tie was just there on my working bench, for someone to utilize it. It could have been any other object really. Thanks for commenting!
