Popular Post ChelCass
A few cutting in the new shop. The Ice skate, Dream Catcher and Cupid are cut from 1/4 inch Furniture Grade Pine ( my new favorite) . I bought the pine at Johnson workshop and I really like it. It cuts easy and there is very little sanding. Has anyone else used this wood? Thoughts? stoney, RabidAlien, jollyred and 13 others

Dak0ta52
Never heard of furniture grade pine either but from the looks of your pieces I'll have to check on it. Very nice. They look very smooth.
ChelCass
We have a specialty lumber store called LL Johnson lumber aka the Workbench. This is where I buy my lumber. A little more pricey (not bad) but much better then the Big Box stores. Here's picture of the label. When I googled Pine furniture grade a lot came of as Common Grade???? FrankEV
Google search produced this definition of "Furniture Grade" Quote Although you hear the term “furniture grade plywood” bandied around from time to time (usually by people who don’t know any better), there really is no such thing. Furniture is an application in which plywood is used; but there is no such grade of plywood. Rather, the term “furniture grade” is a loosely used term, primarily referring to plywood with a letter grade identifying the quality of face veneer, which would make it acceptable for use in building furniture. danny
wombatie
Lovely work. The pine looks great and if there is little sanding that is certainly a bonus. Marg
kywoodmaster
In the lumber business that is called C common white pine. Basic definition is no knots larger than 1/8". If you are buying that for the price marked on the tag that is a great price. That works out to be $4.40 per board foot. I was paying that for it 10 years ago. The dream catcher is killer. danny and ChelCass
