Very nice.  I ordered the plans myself.  They had a 35% discount if you order 2 or more,, so...... I just had to order 2!  Not sure if I have anything thick enough for the bodies beside 2"x6" Pine.  I have some 1" Cherry, Walnut, and Padauk.  But I really don't want to do any glue ups.  I may have some 2" thick Cedar.  Oh, and some 6" thick Cypress. I still need to order some wheels and axles.

Just a hint for finishing.  I used two 12" long dowel rods through the axle holes while I put on the tung oil.  Kind of use them like chopsticks to hold the car while I brush on the finish and check for any runs in the finish.  I then set it to dry over 2 old plastic peanut butter pretzel jars.  Works really well and enables me to get 360 degree access to the car without getting fingerprints (or glove prints) on the car.

I use a dowel is inserted into an existing hole in the body to provide a handle and stand. The dowel must be a tight fit. The dowels work well until the toy is heavy. I sometimes use long nose locking pliers to hold the dowel.

For a larger toy, I glue a dowel into a hole in the bottom of the toy at the center of gravity to use as a handle. I cut the dowel with a flush-cut saw when the finish has cured. The advantage of this method is that I can paint batches of toys in a small space.
