Less than two years ago I bought a new table saw. Love the saw but I discovered the blade was not square with the table and there was no way to fix it. It took me almost six months to get it replaced. Last Wednesday my drum sander shot craps and it is just shy of two years. Took until Friday for a technician to contact me. The drive motor on the conveyor quit. He said it was probably a circuit board and not to plug the motor into the wall that it was a DC motor and it could damage it.  I never even thought about that. Who in the hell would manufacture a product and put a 110 plug on it if it isn't made to plug into the wall. The technician will not return my emails. I have no idea if any parts are available or not.  The tough part is that I use it every day.

Were you supposed to run it off batteries? DC? WTH? As to the table saw, wasn't your table top adjustable? Mine was and I had to square it to my saw blade when I first got it.

I might not have been clear on the conveyor belt drive motor.  I is supposed to be plugged into the control box which has the speed restate and on off switch.  When it quit working I started to trouble chute.  That's when I discovered the conveyor motor had a regular plug so I plugged it into the wall. 

 

There wasn't enough play where the saw mounted to the table to be able to square it up.

Thanks Dave, I see now that you are talking about large scale drum sander. Sorry for your situation but it sounds like there is some communication problems. What brand is it? For future information.

Laguna.  Sept. I also bought $150 carbide tip band saw blade from them that has 3 teeth missing....I'm also waiting to hear what they are going to do about that.

Well, they are supposed to be pretty dependable from all that I've heard and read but I guess it all depends on who their vendor is. I've not bought any of their stuff so I can't give any input but I sure hope you get your satisfaction from them because this a very big forum to air your grievances on and I'm sure they don't want thousands of people hearing about your trials and tribulations. I bought 1 1/2 year old Laguna lathe that has been giving me trouble for the last month. When I first called them they were great. The parts they sent me didn’t fix it. After not hearing back from them for a week I emailed again. They were going to send another part last Thursday. Still haven’t got it or heard from them again. It’s a great lathe it’s their customer service that is hit and miss.

I've not had one problem with any of the H/F tools I've purchased.

Me either as far as working correctly etc.. The ergonomics of some of the tools I wouldn't want to use commercially for long term.. even though I have with some of them... They've all held up good for me.

I like the features that their equipment has but customer service is bad. I work in my shop every day all day and I am grouchy old man when I have a piece of equipment that is broke down. Good luck getting your lathe going.

I will be buying Jet from now on. Customer service is rated better and a better warranty.

Thanks Dave When I bought it was between it and the Jet 1221. I picked the Laguna because it had outboard turning. Wish now I had bought the Jet. I bought a new jointer a month ago. Woodcraft had the Jet and a Laguna 6 inch lathe. I bought the Jet. Most of my other big tools are Jet and are over 20 years old and still going strong.

Dave, I have the same Drum sander although it was made by SuperMax before Laguna bought the company.  It is one of my favorite tools.  I just looked, and at least on the 19-38 they do not have the 120v plug like you mentioned.   
When the company was SuperMax, they had excellent service.  I have heard negative things about Laguna’s service.
