Popular Post Retired Scroller Posted March 18, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted March 18, 2022 (edited) A lot of detail work, assembly and finish but finally completed the largest project I have ever done. Walnut and maple of various thickness, 1/8" to 3/8". The curved end panels ended up being a 1/32" wood used for craft projects. It's the only thickness that would make the bend of about 30 degrees. Had to stack cut with 1/8" ply and a #2 blade at low speed. IMG_.HEICIMG_1085.HEIC Edited March 18, 2022 by Retired Scroller Add Pics Eric67, RabidAlien, Charlie E and 20 others 21 2 Quote

merlin Posted March 20, 2022 Report Posted March 20, 2022 Now that is just gorgeous...I have a pattern looks the same as this but no measurements, it goes by the name "Ancient Royal Wagon". Could you tell me the size of the large wheel please so I can see if its the same or even increase the size. Clutching at straws here, only time I have seen this and I have know way of telling the size of any of it... Cheers.... Retired Scroller 1 Quote

Retired Scroller Posted March 22, 2022 Author Report Posted March 22, 2022 Replying to Merlin’s question: The rear wheel diameter is 8 3/4 inches. Actually, I reduced the patterns to 70% of original due to thin wood sizes available. It made detail cuts a little harder though. The overall coach dimensions are 25”L X 25” H X 10.5” W. Quote

How many Hours and days did you spend to make this Magnificent Treasure? I started late Spring of ‘21 and just finished. I take breaks for periods of time for other interests. When I do cutting it may be for 1 to 3 hours each time. The detail work takes so much focus and slow speed cutting I get eye strain sometimes. Greatgrandpawrichard 1 Quote
merlin Posted March 22, 2022 Report Posted March 22, 2022 Thanks for that ...Just sorting out some thin wood at the moment it's hard to find in New Zealand... Retired Scroller 1 Quote
