I've been busy working on a number of projects in the shop recently.  Here they are:

Graduation present for my grandson Josh (Steve Good Pattern)

 

Dinosaur Counting Puzzle (revised painting  )

 

Charcuterie Board with Epoxy River

I took a charcuterie board class at the local Rockler shop - here's the completed project.

That river board is really nice.  Was learning to do the epoxy challenging?  I have been thinking about trying my hand at it but with the cost of the epoxy I have been hesitant.

Thanks!  It really wasn't that difficult.  It's only the second one I've made.  Only been wood working since November so I don't think it should be that difficult for most people in here.  It does take a lot of patience and time (mostly sanding)!

Great work all around.  I've done a couple of projects in the past using epoxy but nothing big.  I love those boards, the idea of one is in the "to try one day" pile (it grows more than anything. )

They are all lovely, my favorit would be the puzzle though. Kids love dinos and the bright colors will defently draw the kids to it, and sneaking some learning in toys iv always loved lol its much easer teaching kids when the learning is fun lol espicaly when they dont really understand that they are learning while there playing lol

I was a substitute teacher for 12 years in elementary schools and also found that kids don't realize they are learning when they are having fun.  I try to incorporate that into all the toys I have been making.  I saw this puzzle as math, science, critical thinking and  pattern recognition.  This puzzle is going to a little three-year old boy who is basically non-verbal but loves dinos - I hope it will help bring him out of his shell.
