Popular Post heppnerguy
I have been busy in the shop and with other things and have not posted most of the projects I have completed lately. I get then done and mail them off and forget to even take photos of them. I remembered to photograph this item I made that is going to the National Parks Dept., I believe in South Dakota. The person who ordered it should be receiving it today, I believe. This is a Judy Gale Robert's pattern and I got lucky as it was on sale for $5. My timing was right about that. I have not done very many intarsia pieces for awhile but I am happy with how this one came out Dick heppnerguy frankorona, Blaughn, Wichman and 17 others

heppnerguy
I received a note that she had received it in the mail last night and she was well pleased with it. That made me happy as I always fear that the receiver may not be very happy with it for any reason at all. Dick heppnerguy

Marg Marg, There used to be a lot of Bison in the South Dakota area and I understand that the parks dept. in that area will be the people this plaque will be gifted to. One of the colleges there call themselves the Buffalo's with is another term for Bison. that is why this pattern was selected. My memory has gotten so bad lately that I find I have trouble trying to recall the wood names unless they are written on the wood as I select it. I do remember a couple of them though. Black Mamba, Black walnut and I just can't think of the redder wood I used for the horns but it is a rather common variety. sorry Dick heppnerguy

Maybe your should give another a try. I started out making intarsia and after about 4 years I got into scrolling because it didn't take to long to finish a project. I only do intarsia every once in awhile because I have several patterns laying around that I have never done Dick heppnerguy John B

Thanks for the comments and yes, it is really nice when a customer is overjoyed with something they purchase from you. Always my goal, even if I am not completely satisfied with the project myself. I always do the best I know how to do but I also know any mistakes or anything that didn't come out as I hoped it would.
