Popular Post heppnerguy
I showed this pattern to my wife and she said she would like one for your front room wall, so here is the results of it. This is a JGR pattern and it might be a perfect pattern for someone who has been thinking about making an intarsia piece but strays away because they are not sure they could make one. Give this one a try if you even thinking you might like to try it. You can do it. Hawk
Amazing, I've tried intarsia a couple of times, never finished for many reasons. This pattern however might be doable for me. Thanks for sharing, again beautiful piece. Chris heppnerguy

You know, I really do not know the names of the woods, as I pick up different woods at the wood store that I like and go through what I have left in my wood supply and choose the ones that seem to work for me at the time. So I really can not answer that question. I will try to list them as I go on my next project so I can answer. I seem to get this question with all my intarsia projects, so I will try to remember to write down the woods and list them in my posts Dick heppnerguy

I try to make the best choices possible from the woods I have on hand. I have never shopped for wood for any pattern I have made as the wood store is so far away from where I live. Actually when I started my wood hobby, I started with making intarsia projects only. After a few years of doing that, I got kind of tired of doing them and turned to scrolling, once I realized that scrolling was more than a simple outline of an animal or something similar. I enjoyed the fact that scrolling a project could be done in an hour or less instead of 4 days it takes my to do most intarsia projects. I have several intarsia patterns I have never cut so I turned to those again, just for a change of pace. Never was very good at intarsia and I was too cheep to buy specialty woods for doing them. I still like the end results though. Dick heppnerguy Dak0ta52

I do enjoy the end results of intarsia a lot but not to enthusiastic at the time it takes me. Dick heppnerguy Hawk

From a woodworker with your talent, I am sure you can see a lot of changes you would do if you were to make this pattern but I appreciate the pat on the back from you, anyway. I try to do my best, but my best is a long stretch from the talents of so many people doing intarsia and scrolling. I love my shop time and being able to even come close to my goal every once in awhile, when I start a new piece. Dick heppnerguy

Marg Marg, did you ever make the dolphin intarsia pattern I sent to you a couple of years ago. I know you would do very well with intarsia if you gave it a chance. I am confident you would enjoy intarsia as your projects are always so well done. This is a very easy one to start intarsia on. Not really that difficult to do. I say, if I can do it, anyone can.
