Through rain & wind!!

Sorry the weather didn't cooperate, Barb. I'm doing my first "show" this weekend... actually a community yard sale. I don't really have a lot to display. Maybe 20 pieces. As far as the weather here, it will probably be in the upper 90s (Fahrenheit) and high humidity. My main objective is to show some of my pieces and hopefully get a couple commissions.

Good on you for giving it a shot Barb.
Outside markets are always hit and miss. Many a-time I have loaded the ute the night before, with a forecast of a nice day coming up, only to find, when we get set up that the winds are terrible and sometimes the heat just keeps people away too.
You had a win, covered costs and have $20 for some more timber, or maybe hot soup ;)

My first sale was all intarsia projects. Hence they were a lot more expensive than any other booths  there. I had a lot of nice comments but no sales until almost tear down and I sold my highest price piece. It was $175. I decided that all the work for hopes of selling was not my thing. It kind of turned my fun hobby into work. Not really what I wanted to do.

You are a brave lady. Sales will come your way. Do not give up

I am like you in that all the work for hopes of selling isn't really my thing.  I have another event in November, which is a 2 day event.  Did it last year as well and it was quite successful.  I will probably just continue as I am - post something on my fb page for friends & family to see.  Sold a fair bit that way.
