bbuzz8233 Posted June 15, 2022 Report Posted June 15, 2022 When making a pattern from a photo, there are often many dropout areas that must be manually identified for bridging. This can often be a time consuming endeavor. I was wondering if there are any software programs or apps currently available that are able to identify these areas automatically. If so, how do they work? Any help would be deeply appreciated. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
WayneMahler Posted June 15, 2022 Report Posted June 15, 2022 Nothing that I know of. I have manually insert my bridges. I use Corel Draw for most of mine. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted June 15, 2022 Report Posted June 15, 2022 Easily identified by color filling the project.. everything color filled will be attached to the main image, anything not connected to the main image ( drop outs or otherwise called floaters ) will remain the white. Color filling is also known as using the bucket fill tool.. What software are you using to create the pattern? I or someone else may be able to help further on how to do this if we know what program you're using. John B and OCtoolguy 1 1 Quote
John B Posted June 15, 2022 Report Posted June 15, 2022 As Kevin said, any photo /editing programme should be able to do this. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
bbuzz8233 Posted June 15, 2022 Author Report Posted June 15, 2022 (edited) I mainly use GIMP. I'm not very good with computer programs but I think I've figured out how to make use of your suggestion. Thanks for the help! Edited June 15, 2022 by bbuzz8233 OCtoolguy, Dave Monk and John B 3 Quote

danny Posted June 20, 2022 Report Posted June 20, 2022 I find it pretty easy to just Draw the bridge myself. Or lately after I have cut Many I can see how the letter needs to be cut. No problem now. Danny :+} OCtoolguy and crupiea 2 Quote
