Popular Post Montserrat
I felt compelled to try to make a segmented bowl again. For an impatient person it's hell. Cut and glue and cure and cut and cure and glue etc. Walnut, yellowheart and padauk. OCtoolguy, danny, don watson and 7 others

kmmcrafts
Nicely done, I like the different stripes of wood species you have there.. go well together. I've been wanting to try this sometime, I have a scrap piece of glue up from making a lazy susan and a pattern from Steve Good all on it. Got side tracked with a order for something else and lately my spare time going to a project car.. Montserrat and OCtoolguy

barb.j.enders
Looks great. I also am an impatient person which is why I tend to not do anything with glue-ups. Montserrat, OCtoolguy and meflick 1

I encourage you to give it a try. Toughest part of the cutting is following the line, while cutting on an angle. Saws with tilting heads make this task much easier. Sanding the glued up rings smooth can be a bit tedious, especially if you don't have anything other than a random orbit sander. Carole Rothman is the master of these things. Check out one of her books. Lots of great ideas for all skill levels and very good instructions on how to make them. OCtoolguy
Bowls are not that hard to make. Just requires attention to detail and a lot of sanding. Placement of drill holes is very important. danny and Montserrat

As per Carole will say of making bowls on the scrollsaw, we don’t say SANDING we say shaping, it sounds better that way.
