Popular Post Jim McDonald
Something new I am trying. (This is why I needed spray glue) Starting local because it is easier to find the fabric. Team fabric backers on upcycled (Goodwill frames) with hardwood logos. Trying to judge a fair price since I always price too low. Comments welcome. RabidAlien, wombatie, namunolie and 8 others 10
FrankEV
material cost + (hours worked x say $15 or how much you consider your time is worth) + desired profit, say maybe 1000% (or maybe more realalistily 10%). I'm happy when I can recoup my material costs, but that is just me. John B
Jim, you are asking a serial "that;s too cheap, not enough" bloke here. That's what my daughter and missus continually tell me, I have even had customers buy an item and throw another $5 or $10 in as they say I never charged enough. new2woodwrk
I have a formula I use for all my pricing but it basically amounts to Material cost + Hourly rate * hours worked = Baseline Baseline *1.15 = Baseline + Overhead (coverage for utilities, wear on tools, incidentals that you may not track well in materials (like glue and such)) Baseline * 1.25 = Baseline + Overhead + Profit (Profit is just if you think you will want to expand if you dont really care about that then dont include it) Hope that helps. Oh and just an FYI be careful of trademarked sports items. They are very prudent in regards to shutting down businesses operating without approvals. I've seen 2 small vendors here get swept up in trade mark infringement - and we are very small area.
