One stained Jarrah, the other Rosewood. Finished with 3 coats of clear gloss lacquer. I used #3 FDUR and FD new spirals #1. the Wording is quite famous in Australia. It is reputed to be Ned's last words on the scaffold. FrankEV
Had to go to the Metric converter...nom 19" x 14". Nice large cutttings, very well done. Frames look great. Intersting names/species of wood you have down there. Would love to try some but not going to pay significan shipping cost just to try it out. Very little difference between the troopers and Bushrangers back then. Ned had some redeeming features. Many laws were changed after he was captured, removing some police powers and making courts more accountable. wombatie and Charlie E

I saw where he said unfair treatment from lawmen drove him to crime. And I sure wasn't knocking the cutting because he was an outlaw. If I had to take down all my portraits of people with skeletons in their closet there wouldn't be many left. My self portrait would have to come down for sure. It's frustrating having so many nice timbers around the world, but priced out of reach. When I first joined a group (The fox Chapel one) I made a lot of friends in the US, I am still mates with a lot. I posted and received various local timbers from a number of them. Postage never seemed a problem. I think it was because surface mail was still a big thing and it was relatively cheap to send via surface if you were not impatient. Almost everything now goes via airmail and so weight costs Edited August 22, 2022 by John B
