Hello from Monterey

Hi folks,

My name is Marc aka Crash Landing. I live on the central coast of California. I started scrolling about a year ago. I am still learning. I have made a few things for family and friends and my focus is on making boxes. I have borrowed some basic designs and modify them to some extent. I am currently trying to lean Inkscape with the help of Travis' online university series. I plan to use that to eventually create my own patterns. I have had some woodworking experience. I was a union carpenter for over 20 years and then changed careers to become a systems engineer for a large corporation. I find a good blend of math and sawdust keeps me happy.

I am very new to this forum but what I see I find to be fun and informative.

Welcome to your very own scrollsaw club.I crash landed here 4 years ago and love it!Your photo was me too ,but i had a crowbar and the cover was off so it fit perfect .Needless to say my mom came in the room and wanted to know what i was doing as the powere went off.Dazed thrown across the room i said nothing with the evidence in my hands.We'll want to know all about your first projects with the scroll saw you have or are going to get,We will enjoy seeing the fire wood you make at first chance you get.Open up your own gallery here to post pictures of your work.you've got lots of helpfull friends now here.
