Bellowing about Denny

Ray, why would you think that, each saw is manufactured by different companies. They wouldn't be allowed, to copy the EX exactly the same, due to copyright protection. A minor change such as this, would go towards the percentage of changes they need to bring their saws to market. I'm not sure of what the percentage is, but, it's out there somewhere in a patent lawyers bag of tricks. That's how Saw-Stop has gotten so much protection, they patented almost every piece of their saws separately. Doing so, makes it almost impossible, to make a saw using any of the Saw-Stop technology.

If I'm reading this correctly, you have an Excalibur 16. Am I to understand that the Pegas bellows is different? I'd have thought they would be the same. Curious!

Ray, The new bellows looked identical to the one I removed.  It took a little to figure out how to install it. There is a hole at the bottom where the plate is mounted but there is no way to install it that way (especially with thick fingers)I removed the 4 screws that connect the upper housing cover to the square aluminum plate at the front where the 3 rods pass through. I removed the small bolt on the top that connects the 2 drive arms. This arm has a bushing and 2 Shims on either side. This arm has the pin to mount the bellows on the underside and can be removed ( a whole lot easier!) Reinstalled everything and it all works good.

I'm still confused. Couldn't Denny have just sent you a Pegas bellows?

Many of the parts on the Pegas are interchangeable between brands. Not sure about all but I'd have thought the bellows might have been the same. Just asking for future needs as I have 2 Ex's and if I can buy parts from Denny it becomes another source.

I placed an order for a gross of blades Friday 12/2. Received them today 12/4. Tennessee to So Cal. Darned quick. And, because me last order with Denny was a set of Pegas clamps, I rec'd 6 dozen blades for free. Best service ever. Thanks Denny & crew.

Thanks Ray.  What you are referring to is my Loyal Customer Program.  Free blades based on the amount of the previous order.

Jim Blume and I compared part #s from his pegas to my Canadian king. All but one bearing are the same
