Very nicely done Crash. Like them a lot. What woods did you use? Thanks for sharing them with us.

thank you DW..On the "K"box..my wife's initial btw, I used mahogany for the lid and the box is maple. The fish has an oak lid with a poplar and oak lamination. I like poplar for most of my work as I find the color and grain variations interesting. As time goes on, it oxidizes into some nice looks.

great looking boxes. I have seen many colors in a poplar board from yellow/green to purple and black.

I've made the "k" box as well. there are a lot of nice patterns in that book.

Love the K box. Is that an open cut (like the fish) or is there something in there like bakers clay? I can't tell in the pic.

it is an open cut as it the fish. I painted the lid liner black on both pieces. I am playing with other color backgrounds on other pieces. I am glad you liked my efforts

Great boxes. Where did you find the font for the K? Is it available in other letters?

thank you for the kind words. The font you are interested in is Vivian Extreme. The entire character set is available on several "font" sites. The cheapest I found was $66.00 for the family set of 3 types.
