New old saw

I was able to pick up an old Hegner Multimax 2 for $50. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that the bellows needs to be replaced. I checked the Advanced Machinery website but they don’t appear to offer a replacement.  Any suggestions?

I replaced 2 of them using CV boots. Worked great. Just get the measurements at top and bottom and go looking. I can't recall what I used. I'll do some research and try to find my Amazon purchase. BRB.

A small aquarium air pump works great if you can't find a replacement bellows for your saw. Wire it and the saw to both run from a foot switch and it will only run when you are running the saw.

Thanx Ray. I’ll check the auto parts store tomorrow and see what they have.

Did you need to use the band clamps or was the fit tight enough?

Charley, I was hoping to not have to add another device on to the saw. I think the previous owner (not who I bought it from) must have used one because the air tube was cut in half.  I don’t use a foot switch because of my back problems. I need to keep changing position while I’m sawing and a foot switch would make that difficult.

Ray, did the top of that boot stretch enough to fit over what it has to fit over on the saw?  My saw is not around 12 years old,  Maybe I should buy what you did and have on hand.  I will forget about it if the time comes I need one,, heck I will forget about it in 10 minutes!   Of course, I would also forget where I stored the spare if I happen to remember I had one.

This is what I had to do with my Delta P20! The part that the bellows mounted on broke in half and the part was no longer available! I had an  aquarium air pump that had been used on another saw that i sold and decided to hook it up to the P20. It actually puts out more air than the original bellows did and it is hooked up to run when the saw does and shuts off when the saw does!
