Spray Glue

Home Depot gives Veterans a 10% discounts for instore and online orders. Needless to say I purchase quite a bit of supplies from them. Much of their items they will also ship to my home.

I used to use 3M 45 spray glue. I can't seem to find it anymore. I'm always up to tying new products. Saw this Roberts Glue online on HD site so I ordered a can to give it a try.  Sprays a really heavy coat and is a bit messy. If you zoom in on the paper you can see how heavy the coat is. I tried putting a different nozzle on it but no improvement. Really sticks well. A bit cheaper than 3M. I've used about a half of a can and nozzle hasn't clogged yet.  I think I will be buying more.

I have a can sitting on the shelf that I bought a couple weeks ago. I couldn't get it to stick my pattern very good to shelf paper. Maybe I don't know how to use it.

I have used the small 4oz. ? can of the elmers and at first try I didn't like it and got the same results... I found you have to shake the can up good and also have to be kind of heavy at spraying it.. I think you also have to let it set for a few seconds after spraying? I don't remember for sure now but it was a learning curve to use as opposed to the 3M sprays that I had been using.. I think they seem to have the smallest of the cans that you can get.. really handy for those of us that don't really use much of the sprays.

I also have been perplexed by the vanishing act of 3M 45 spray adhesive in stores. I finally found that my local Ace Hardware had supplies.  While Ace prices are a bit high if you are a devoted 45 user you may want to take a look.  My local price at Ace is $8.59 for the 10.5oz can.

I've bought my 45 from Amaz in the past since I get free shipping and my local box stores are priced crazy! Typically I would save up to $3 a can that way.

Something has changed with 3m and either it is no longer making/shipping 45 or something else is happening (I'll leave that to the imagination, but I suspect it's the same place my bread and cheese are hiding these days as well)!

I have 77 that I've been using and lots of the Elmers (not really a fan of elmers, it slips).

I'll check out Ace though last time I bought 3m from Amaz it was $6.48 a can!

$9.99 at my local Ace stores!

I wasn't aware that HD gave veterans the 10% discount! I know that Lowes has that for the Veterans which I have and do most of our business there. Now as for the glue, I have tried different brands, some cheaper, some more expensive but always come back to to the red can, 77!

You used to be able to ask for it and the would give it to you. Now you have to apply on line for it. A bit of a hassle but it was worth doing for me. https://www.homedepot.com/c/military

Yeah, I didn't like having to go through the hassle but once you're done, it's just a matter of bringing up the scan code on your phone. Now I have to get my wife's phone set up so I don't have to go with her everytime she wants to buy another plant or whatever.

You still have to show proof at my store even though I registered as a veteran... You would think their system would know.  I have never had them refuse me even though I do not carry proof.   Lowes if you register it knows when you give your name or something.

Lowes can look me up by my phone #.  I have to pull up a QR code on my phone to show them at HD.

In Canada, it is actually illegal to ask for the SIN, Social Insurance Number.  That is only to be given/used for income tax purposes.  I never give that info out.

I live in Canada as well and am very careful about sharing my SIN number as well.
