Dave Monk Posted November 7, 2022 Report Posted November 7, 2022 Have any of you used any redwood for woodworking other than outside projects? OCtoolguy 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted November 7, 2022 Report Posted November 7, 2022 Not yet but I see a small box in my future. Quote
Scrappile Posted November 7, 2022 Report Posted November 7, 2022 All the pipes I made for my street organ are made of recycled redwood that was on my deck... It was esay to work with, kinda like working with clear grin cedar, only a little harder. Little harder than cedar little softer than mahongany. tomsteve, Dave Monk and OCtoolguy 3 Quote
Wichman Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 Yes. I used some 2 x 2 redwood to make a couple of wands. I really didn't like the wood; the difference in hardness between grain lines was quite striking, and the sawdust was "stick", the blower couldn't move it. OCtoolguy and Dave Monk 1 1 Quote
WayneMahler Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 I made a set of Bible verse plaques from it. Nice to work with and finishes very nicely. Would love t0o get some more. Dave Monk and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 I made my daughter a new gate out of redwood and it was easy to work with. I have some scraps left over that I had planned to use for a small box or something like that. Dave Monk 1 Quote
