well, what's up Russell?  You a newby or a little bit of a scroller?

Looks like you have a good saw and on a good learning track.

Only been scrolling for about 6 months. Started on a $5 garage sale Craftsman that I added pinless adapters and an aquarium air pump as a dust blower. Just recently purchased the Wen. It's like going from an old VW Beatle to a fully loaded high end Suburban.

A welcome from North Carolina. I also have a WEN but I have the cheaper model. I understand the one you have is a fairly nice saw. The only thing I didn't like about that saw was the release was all the way at the back to lower the upper arm... but my saw doesn't have the capability of raising the upper arm. Currently working to upgrade my saw right now.

Hope to see some posts of your work. Also, don't hesitate to ask questions, There is a vast amount of knowledge by the members of this forum.

Thanks for the welcome.

The rear release on the Wen 21" has 2 positions, one locks arm up or down the other lets it float. I just let it float and have no problems so far.
