Scrappile
Ahh. Ron, I have missed you.. all your projects as first class and unique. You always inspired me to try harder... that is very cool. How did you do the paw prints? looks like they are proud of the rest of the picture.. how!? Charlie E
Beautiful piece! Like Paul, I wondered about the paw prints.
Ron Johnson
Thanks Paul. Cutting the paws I tilted the table to the right 2 degrees and cut counter clock wise. For the nails table was tilted to the right 1 degree and again cut counter clock wise. Then glue all pieces in and round off. Doing this process will vary according to thickness of wood so it’s best to practice on a piece of scrap first. Thank you. PS I should mention when drilling a hole for blade I used a bit just big enough for a #3 blade. Drill the hole on the line tilted to the right same angle as your table. RabidAlien
Very nicely cut! Love the live-edge wood used for this, very wild and rustic. Although part of me saw the subject line and thought "oooo...someone has a pattern of WW2 submarines on the prowl!!!" ...I may need more coffee. Nice explanation on the paws! My first thought was "cut the sides straight, cut scrap pieces to fit in the bottom of the holes and then drop the pads/claws back in so they're scrap-pieces higher than the rest". I tend to forget that my saw table tilts.

Good to see you back. Jeff Thanks Jeff. Had this pattern for many years and decided since I had the wood I should cut it. Gave it to my brother so I’ll be cutting a couple more. A very Merry Christmas to you and family. GPscroller
