MOTOR WILL NOT START ON 220VS MODEL HAWK SCROLL SAW

JUST MOVE THIS SAW FROM FATHERS HOUSE TO MINE...I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT RUN.

PLUG IT IN AND SWITCH IT ON AND NOTHING HAPPENS...IS THERE A FUSE SITUATION?

ANY HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE GREAT

make sure the cable from the motor to the speed control is attached they will seperate or come loose

There were some vintages of saws that had motor issues. But first, with power off try to get he motor to rotate. It might just be on a bad spot on the armature. See if there is a hole in the end of the motor where you can insert a flat-blade screwdriver to turn the armature. If not try to move the crankshaft and get it to rotate. If your saw has variable speed control that could also be a problem but can be repaired. Good luck. Let us know what you find and welcome to the Village!

I had to replace the switch on mine.

My first Hawk did the same thing.. but worked fine for 4 years after and probably still working for the new owner.. I just took the cover off the control box and blew some compressed air around.. there was a fair amount of dust that made its way inside that box on mine.. might try that..
