Popular Post Ron Johnson Posted December 30, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted December 30, 2022 This old toy car is 7 ½” L x 3 ½” W x 3”H. Sister in law acquired this from a yard sale for.60 cents. It was in pieces, with only two wheels, broken bumpers with headlights and taillights needing replacing. It was in sad shape so I decided to try and restore this beauty. Lightly sanded the original finish and applied a natural oil finish. Not sure of the wood spieces. Made new bumpers of Aspen, headlights taillights of Ebony along with new wheels. Really enjoyed doing the restoration. barb.j.enders, frankorona, Scrappile and 19 others 22 Quote

oldhudson Posted December 30, 2022 Report Posted December 30, 2022 Very nice work! Could you tell if this was originally factory made vs homemade? I thought it has some cues that it was Citroen 2CV. Quote

Scrappile Posted December 31, 2022 Report Posted December 31, 2022 (edited) Great job! how do you hinge the doors? I am thinking that the collapsible pins used to attach a wristwatch band with would work pretty well. Edited December 31, 2022 by Scrappile Quote

Bilgefisher Posted January 7, 2023 Report Posted January 7, 2023 I really enjoy when folks restore old toys. Something about bringing back to life an item that once gave joy to kids. You did an excellent job. Quote
