My step daughter asked me to make this. Second pictures is how far I have got so far

That is looking good. My mother who was the seamstress in the family would have loved it. Adding some scrolling to it will only enhance it’s beauty.

Looks great. For me, woodworking that makes something functional like this bobbin storage/organizer, is the most rewarding type of project. Your using dowels is smart. I made one of these many years ago and I used an 8d or 10d finish nails and or course they rusted and I had to re-make it. Be sure to post a pic when its mounted and in use.

Bit more progress all pegs in now and contrast beading on door. Have also scrolled a little message on the draw at the top. Plus a little T as the door handle my step daughters name is Teia
