Popular Post Denny Knappen
A finished Alex Fox basket pattern C03 enlarged 30%. I used 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood 10" square. Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #1 MGT blades. After sanding with a Mac Mop, I glued each ring and waited for the glue to dry, so the glue up took time. The finish is spray Lacquer Clear Gloss. Comments welcome. Phantom Scroller, jollyred, Matt B and 10 others
Dak0ta52
Very nice bowl, Denny. I'm sure cutting took some time also. Thirteen layers plus the bottom. But your time and effort paid off with beautiful results.

don watson
Well done with that bowl. I think it is the simplest of his designs and goes together really well if you take a little care. I use mine to hold sweets and visitors love it. You have a nice finish on it as well. I don't usually give mine a spray coat to finish. Very nicely done. Some scrollers dont cut all pieces, I understand that smallest pieces are most difficult, but more layers - better effect. Nice cutting. don watson

Rolf
Denny, great job as usual! Alex has some amazing designs and I have cut a few of them. The biggest challenge to me is the assembly. I have a tendency is to skew to one side. I built myself an alignment jig with a turntable. Also glue squeeze out.

don watson
My biggest problem is finding the best/correct materials to cut them from. I have problems getting 1/4" (5 - 6 mm) plywood and wondered if mdf was a substitute ?? but I don't really like using mdf.

I don't think mdf will give the strength needed. don watson

Rolf
I inherited a professional solder/ glue dispenser when a hearing aid amp manufacturer I worked for went under. It is a pneumatic syringe dispenser. It allows you to control the amount of glue dispensed and has controllable suckback No drips! The unit was very! expensive back then. It is a EFD 1000 XL probably cost the company close to $2000. They still want crazy money for a refurbished unit, I just found a clone on Amazon that looks exactly like it. It is foot pedal controlled and can be set to continuous or timed dispense. I just have to find a reasonable source for the syringes. Here is a video of a different dispenser that shows what one of these can do. https://www.amazon.com/Dispenser-Controller-Adhesive-Semi-Automatic-Operations/dp/B07QVBMWZL/ref=asc_df_B07QVBMWZL/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=366352853698&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11461732102490602969&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004484&hvtargid=pla-795729708142&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=76503872856&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=366352853698&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11461732102490602969&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004484&hvtargid=pla-795729708142 Edited January 14, 2023 by Rolf
