Popular Post Charlie E
Thanks @Fish for letting me "borrow" your idea. I used a piece of wormy red oak. A scroll saw can double as a time machine. This one took me back about 40 years. A good year for me. I get this oak dirt cheap at a local consignment shop, like $5 for a 1 X 8 X 8' but it's wormy and not kiln dried so sometimes it warps when I start cutting it. Still get some great pieces sometimes. I cut a small piece and put in in our oven warming drawer for a couple of hours at 160 degrees to kill any living critters in it and dry it out a bit. Gene Howe
An absolutely gorgeous piece. You captured your subject perfectly. And, of course, your choice of wood was very apt. Charlie E
