rdatelle
Nice Ron. The more I see of those the more I want to do one. I have about 8 pieces of live oak walnut but mine don't have that dark streak going through the middle. There all white like your edges. I purchased the walnut through a local lumber yard and it’s sold by the whole board (6 - 10 board feet in length). I then cut it to the length I need. One side is planed smooth and the other is to but not completely smooth so when cutting the pattern it can sometimes be a challenge. I’m not sure where you purchased these but all I can suggest is to check with your local lumber yard if you haven’t already. rdatelle

Gonzo
Very nice, it looks live you beveled/radiused the cut ends to “soften” the ends. If so, I really like that idea
Charlie E
Beautiful! I like the way you did the end cut also. Great job.

heppnerguy
At first sight I was thinking. 'this is a little hard to see'. Immediately how this thought crossed my mind, I had another thought and it was, to make is look as if the fawn was hiding in natures shadows for it's protection. I am really not sure why you chose this particular piece of wood for this pattern as it is a little difficult to make out easily, but the cutting is of your usual high talent. Ron, I hope you do not see my remarks as criticizing your work, as I did not make the comment to be taken that way. I was just trying to reflect my observation to you. Criticism is good and I thank you for your honest opinion for you are right. The wood is dark for this pattern and it didn’t turn out as I had expected. Thank you.
