Beautiful work on them and I am sure they will be appreciated. Very thoughtful gifts.

I always try to make some sort of memorial plaque for someone that looses a loved one. They seem to mean a lot to the person who gets them

I am also in the process today  of making two more for my grandson's wife and her family as her brother died unexpectedly.  Hope to  get them in the mail later today.

Those are some very clean cuts, Dick. As usual, you did an awesome job.

things are getting a little more difficult as I get older. I am hoping I will be able to scroll until I get close to my end time, which can't be too far off. 😉  I only wish I would have started my scrolling a little earlier in life instead of waiting until I retired in 2002. I may have been able to do a little better then. Thanks for the encouragement  as it is much appreciated

I like that one Dick. I just made a couple plaques for my nieces who's mom just passed away. I like that one though. How do you get the name under it. Nice touch.

The pattern had the flag where the name went, also included another banner flag,(for use of another word). where it is set up for the birth and death dates. I discovered  once I had both the name and the date cut out and ready to send, that I have the identical year of birth and death. Luckily I showed it to my grand daughter, over the phone, and she caught my mistake. I had originally extended the backer board around the entire piece and I was unable to cut off the bottom flag, containing the error so I proceeded to cut the extended part of the backer board to be so it matched the pattern board. This caused me to cut off both flags but leaving the extension part remaining. I then glued the flag onto the extension, as it is easily seen in the photo. The second one I merely cut the space between the main pattern and the closest name flag, followed by then cutting the extended backer board and was able to leave the flag intact, not needing to glue it on. It looked better but I thought of doing it that way  too late for the first one.

As far as how I cut the name into the flag part, I just typed out the letters for the name and glued them onto the pattern and cut them as such.
