Travis
I spent the better part of the day optimizing the databases. I hope I did it right. I also cleared the cache of the website, which might take a couple of days to rebuild. I'm hoping this will help your website response times. OCtoolguy
It seems to be reacting much faster Travis. Thanks.

Travis
Another update. I think I need to update the website themes too, which I'll mess with over the next day or two.

Travis
Kinda like a software update, but not really. My hosting provider sent me an email basically saying that they're restructuring their plans and SSV is using a lot of space and will be moving us to another price tier. The move would basically double my operating expenses. I think because SSV is a picture-heavy website, we have a lot of files, and many of them are large. So we're going over our limit. At any rate, I have to move a few things around. I think much of the uploads (gallery and forum attachments) will be moved off and onto a different server. For those interested, they'll be moving to Amazon's S3 service. S3 is very fast, which might even improve the responsiveness of SSV. It will be cheaper than what my hosting provider will charge, but it's just another bill I have to add to the pile, which is a bummer. I think everything will move over smoothly based on a few tests I ran. But there may be a transition time, potentially broken images that shouldn't last too long. I just wanted to give you a heads-up. Let me know if something goes sideways. meflick, JJB, OCtoolguy and 1 other 2

I've noticed that on my thread about the double lidded baskets that I'm working on, some of the pictures are being dropped and just an icon shows now. Some of the pictures are early in the thread and others are later in the thread. This is not intended as a complaint, but rather as a heads up to something going sideways. Travis
OK...I fixed two of the posts. The very first one seems to link to a image that's not on SSV, so I can't fix that. You can always edit the post and reattach the image, Wichman

Travis
I think I got those fixed now. I had to move a bunch of files over the last couple of weeks. If anybody notices any broken links or broken images, please let me know and I'll see if I can get those working again. If you see a thread that needs fixing, please link to it for me. It is really hard for me to find the thread without a link.
