First Ones For The Year

I took some time off from scrolling after Christmas and I haven't had much time in the garage since I decided it was time to go back but I have managed to get these done.
Hitchcock is for my daughter for Christmas and the oval names are for a neighbour who's got new additions to the family.
Hitchcock is cut from 2.5mm bamboo in a shop bought frame and the names are cut from 5mm Blackheart Sassafras.  Can't remember what blade I used for Hitchcock but I used PMG #3 for the names. (My new go to blades)
Thanks go to CharlieE for telling me where to get the Hitchcock pattern.

Yes Matt  I made the pattern up about 15 years ago and since then I have made about 300 names.  Some families have had about 18 for all family members.  If you ever need a pattern just let me know.

Blackheart Sassafras is from Tasmania and it is my absolute favorite, it cuts well and it finishes excellently.

Marg, I always regretted the time you came to America it was impossible to meet you and your husband. I think about that very often when I see your posts.

   Nice project, It sure is a good likeness of Hitchcock. He was a very different and interesting man. I like your name piece too. I have found that people always seem to like the personal touch of having their name in wood

Got to tell you Folk.  Meeting up with members in person is worth every effort.  Dick and I have met several times in the past few years, Don't know about Dick, but I enjoyed every minute of it, as I enjoy any phone conversations we have.  Scollingforsanity and I have got together a few times and are going to do some more when the weather get better, we can talk for hours also.  Just something awesome of meeting up with other scroller and especially if they are members of the village.  Then you get to talk about the rest of you people!  Actually we do because it goes like: did you see that project so and so did?, I wonder how he/she did such and such...  It is just special.  And I have a few that are far away the call or message me, not necessarily members here, but scrollers/woodworkers... some from other countries...Make my life so much better and enjoyable.  if you get a chance arrange a get together.  You will not be sorry.
