Moocifer Joe
I received my Wen LL2156 scroll saw on 12/5/22. Today it produced a bad rattle and vibration. I found a piece of bearing race on the saw stand. Not sure exactly where it came from. I returned the saw to Home Depot today under the 90 day return policy (saw was purchased online from HD). Went home and ordered a new Wen LL2156. Delivery should be tomorrow. scrollingforsanity
Glad to hear you like it. I have a EX and a Seyco but if one quits I might try the Wen for a second saw. OCtoolguy

OCtoolguy
Well, I hope, for everybody's sake, that this one proves to be an improvement over your first one. I have touted Wen products and their service so it makes me sad to hear that you had a problem so soon after buying your saw. I hope it was just and anomaly. But, please do keep all of us updated so we can feel safe when buying their products. scrollingforsanity

I want to say how easy it was to re return my defective saw to HD under the 90 day return policy and how fast my new saw arrived after ordering thru HD web site. The new saw needed less adjustment and seems to preform better right from the box than the original saw. Maybe the original saw was bad from the beginning. I will keep everyone posted if any problems occur. scrollingforsanity and OCtoolguy 1

NC Scroller
Good luck with your Dewalt. Their quality has not been great as of late. OCtoolguy and Moocifer Joe 1
kmmcrafts
That is too bad to hear that the quality of the DeWalt has went down hill, You are not the first I've heard this from unfortunately. Sycamore67
I do not know if the quality has gone down or not as anecdotal comments are not always correct. However, considering that someone has had trouble with another brand and just bought a new DeWalt to get something better, the comments seem like a downer for him. I am happy he got something that is better and wish him well. OCtoolguy, meflick, kmmcrafts and 1 other 3

Well, from what I've "read" the DW saws had moved production to another facility in China instead of the place in Taiwan where they moved to originally when they switched to the types 2 saws. It may be just another issue of getting the moved ( if this is true ) machines or people / and machines dialed in to make a good product again. The type 2 saw got a bad rap because of issues when the first move happen but they eventually made a great saw once all the bugs got worked out. You still see people say stay away from the type 2 saw.. that switch over happen in the early 2000's I believe. Seems like that is when quality control should be the best for checking machines etc.. making sure the parts are made correctly etc.. But then again, new facility, new people etc.. do they know what it's supposed to be in the first place? NC Scroller
I am sorry if my comment upset anyone. It was not my intention. In the future I will try to be more careful. For the record I truly hope Joe has a great saw that will last him many many years of trouble-free use. We all have heard good and bad about just about every tool mentioned on this forum. You can get a lemon no matter what you buy. It all depends on whether you get a Monday/Friday thing or one made the other 3 days of the week. Every tool that I have purchased over the years, I've had to go over and tighten, loosen, adjust, clean....you name it. My Delta Unisaw was a piece of junk until I got it dialed in. The table was waaaay off.
kmmcrafts
I also hope that Joe gets a good experience as I did with the DeWalt I had and that some of the topics I have seen was just that couple lemons that slips past QC. Not only for Joe but any other person that buys a DeWalt saw since they have been proven by many to be a great saw hopefully that trend continues. I would be curious if the new DW says made in china or not, It's just something I read from somewhere.. I honestly don't care where it's made so long as they continue with a quality standard that they are known for. OCtoolguy
@Moocifer Joe, I want to take a second and add this comment. There seems to be some misunderstanding regarding your recent purchase of a Dewalt saw. If I said anything negative to rain on you parade, I'm deeply sorry. I had a type 1 Dewalt as my first saw and would probably still have it had not a great deal on a used Excalibur come along. You will get many years of use out of that saw as far as I'm concerned. I'm also very sorry that the Wen didn't work out because I had high hopes for its entry into the scroll saw world. We need more saws in that price range. Anyway, if I said anything to make you feel that you made a bad decision, please accept my humble apologies. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW SAW! So far so good with the Dewalt. Mine arrived with no finish flaws I could find. All adjustments seemed very close. I did go over all nut and bolts and double checked all adjustable adjustments. Mine also does not seem to cut aggressively as I have heard others talk about. I will keep everyone posted on this saw as I continue to use it. Man, I hope what I had read in the past was just a misunderstanding from whoever posted it. If it's anything like my old Dewalt you'll love it and should be trouble free for a lot of years. I production cut with mine for 4 years before it needed anything. Production cutting is probably an understatement too.. I ran the heck out of that saw.
