Popular Post heppnerguy
Here is the first Kenny Hopkins pattern I believe I have cut. I have had the pattern for sometime and have wanted to cut it but never got around to it until this week. My wife is in Montana visiting one of our great grand daughters so I was trying to find something to cut in my shop while she was gone and came across this pattern and decided to give it a shot. Here are the results. I cut it from 1/4 inch Baltic Birch. it is 17 X 11 inches. I made an extended backer board to work as a frame as I did not have long enough pieces of wood in my shop to cut one. Dak0ta52
I love pieces like this. Outstanding job Dick. It reminds me of some of Jim Blume's American series in the Village library. I'm still working on that series but a couple other projects jumped ahead at the request from the wife. heppnerguy

My wife's request always comes first too. I am planning on cutting some of Jim Blumes patterns in the near future also. He most often places a lot of challenge within his patterns and I now enjoy the challenges awaiting in fret patterns. You need a really small drill for the windows as the lines are quite small. Thanks for the nice comment on mine Dick heppnerguy Did you use a spiral anywhere on it? heppnerguy
Kris Martinson
Very well done, Dick. I love scenery patterns like this one, and you sure did it justice. May I be so presumptuous as to make a minor recommendation? I have had the same problem of the black background reflecting light when photographed. So now I back my pieces with black felt which I buy at Walmart and at Hobby Lobby for about 35 cents a piece.

I try my best but as I get older and look back on my early projects I see I am not as good as I once was. That is my 'go to' for almost all my projects. I rarely use anything else anymore. I did use a spiral one the window as the other cuts would have been too small to see Dick heppnerguy Edited February 27, 2023 by heppnerguy
