Popular Post meflick Posted March 2, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted March 2, 2023 (edited) Here are two Santas I cut out on the scroll saw (stack cut them so identical cuts). I finally got them finished. The first one is hand carved and then painted with acrylic paints. The second one has no carving, but i used the pyrography unit (wood burning) and burned the fur, beard, and other details before then using artist colored pencils to color him with. The beads on the legs were store bought. As you can see, the different techniques used on each gives very different looks to each. I used the different techniques to see how each would look. I love them both. Β The pattern is from Lora Irish. Β Edited March 2, 2023 by meflick Typos GPscroller, Phantom Scroller, FrankEV and 11 others 14 Quote

Ron Johnson Posted March 3, 2023 Report Posted March 3, 2023 Santa comes early enough but for creating art relating to the season, anytime is alright. Very beautiful work on both Melanie.Β scrollingforsanity and meflick 2 Quote

barb.j.enders Posted March 3, 2023 Report Posted March 3, 2023 Those are both very cute.Β Interesting to see how the different techniques bring out different details.Β The one on the right seems to have areas that "pop" more than the carved one. scrollingforsanity and meflick 2 Quote
