Scruffydog Posted March 31, 2023 Report Posted March 31, 2023 Here is my latest project for a friend at work. Made from mystery wood that came from a knife block cut into individual boards. Hope he likes it. But, I haven't applied a finish yet and am looking for suggestions. I'll be putting magnets on the bottom for the cubicle wall. Comments appreciated. Fab4 Posted March 31, 2023 Report Posted March 31, 2023 Hi Doug: Looks good, easy to read You may want to narrow the base a bit I would go with a natural stain. just my 2 cents worth Fab4 Scruffydog and danny 1 1 Quote
heppnerguy Posted March 31, 2023 Report Posted March 31, 2023 nicely cut. Everyone seems to enjoy their name in wood. It should be a big hit with him. Dick heppnerguy Scruffydog 1 Quote
wombatie Posted April 1, 2023 Report Posted April 1, 2023 Dan will love it. Maybe some Danish oil? Marg danny 1 Quote
Dak0ta52 Posted April 1, 2023 Report Posted April 1, 2023 Nice cutting. I would suggest Boiled Linseed Oil and Polyurethane 50/50 mix. Let it soak about 10 minutes, let it drip for about 45 minutes and wipe it down good. Give it a good buffing. For a little more sheen, apply a little paste wax and buff it out again. Quote
